Interesting facts: The domestic pigeon is found in almost every town in the world. The breeding pair stay together for life. Also the nesting area, hollows, holes in cliff faces or buildings, ledges, are used for the whole life long. The species builds its nest from twigs, stalks, feathers and bits of rubbish. But the eggs are often laid on the bare base, with a thick layer of excrement already present in older nests as support. The feed consists of grains, but also all types of human food are also consumed. Besides man, their main enemy is the goshawk.
