Anser anser

Interesting facts: The grey goose is the wild form of our domestic goose. It feeds on water plants and grasses, dandelions, clover and perrenials. The birds also graze happily in fields during spring and autumn. Migrating greylag geese make the typical V-formation. This is constantly changing due to the birds swapping places.

Body length: Longer than 30 cm (longer than a blackbird)

Distribution: Riverbanks, wetland areas, lakes, also in parks in Central Europe
