Interesting facts: It’s clear to see that the serin is related to the canaries. Its high, loud trilling also sounds very much like a canary. It is at home in a range of habitats. The species colonises open areas with trees and shrubs, as well as the interior of thin woods. It can be found low down as well as high up. It is important for the small bird to have hiding places and a high place to sing from. It feeds on buds, seeds, flowers, leaves and small insects.
