Interesting facts: The blue tit belongs to the best-known and most common bird species. In summer, it lives from small insects and aphids. In winter, they change to eating nuts, seeds and berries. This species is more skilled than other tits when looking for food. The animals often hang upside-down, clutching the outermost branches and leaves. As little cavity-nesting birds, this species also relies on nesting boxes.

Characteristics: Plumage predominantly blue-yellow with a white mask, pale forehead and dominant stripes across the eyes; beak short and dark.

Body length: Around 10 cm (smaller than a sparrow)

Distribution: Deciduous and mixed forests, parks and gardens; widely distributed
